LEBRON MAKES GOOD ON HIS PROMISE

King James will rock #6 next season in honor of Jordan's #23

Lebron made it official yesterday when he gave the league notice of his request to change his number next season from #23 to #6. Lebron  had previously stated that he was considering the gesture in order to pay homage to Michael Jordan, and all that he has done for the game. Lebron has publicly stated that he thinks that the #23 jersey should be banned from any other player wearing the number out of respect to MJ. The issue received a lot of mix emotions from around the league. Lebron has requested to wear the #6 jersey, which was his Olympic jersey number. Under league rules he only needs to request a jersey number change if he is to remain a Cavalier. If he goes to another team he is open to wear any number. Thats something for Cleveland fans to feel good about. Another legend to make the #6 legendary was one of my all time favorites, Julius (Dr. J) Irving.

CAVS CORNER: CAVS LOOK TO GET THERE SWAGGER BACK TONIGHT

Respectful Bow

Okay lets talk Cavs. Yesterday I had an interesting conversation with my man J.K.  J.K is my guy when it comes to talking basketball. We share a lot in common. Besides having knowledge of self, we both have sons that have very promising careers on the basketball court. We’ve made a pat to work together to make sure our kids have the best opportunity to maximize there skills and play on the next level. That being said, JK brought up and interesting point to me yesterday. I posed the question, how did we loose to the Magic on a night when Shaq had 20, Lebron had 33, and Jamison dropped a solid 19?  My thinking is that should be enough to win on any giving night. But the question he posed to me was what about Mo Williams and the back court? The new rotations and additions have left Moe to being a spot up  shooter. No longer is Moe getting up a high volume of shots.  The Cavs usually start off the game establishing big Shaq. Now with the new addition of Jamison, LJ has been looking to make sure Jamison gets his touches.  This leaves Lebron to pick his spots to score, which is basically what he already  does.  So where does Moe fit into the rotation as far as getting his shots up? CHARGERS RELEASE TOMLINSON

It will definitely be diffeent seeing LT sport the colors of another team, but if he plays next season it will not be for the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers released LT today after nine years of service. Tomlinson has far exceeded the normal life expectancy of an NFL running back.  But the beating and pounding that Tomlinson has taken over his career has definitely taking a toll on his body.  While injuries and age have slowed down LT, he has racked up some good numbers in his nine years. Tomlinson ranks eighth on the all-time rushing list with 12,490 yards. His 138 career rushing touchdowns rank second, and his 153 total touchdowns rank third.

IVERSON TAKES INDEFINITE LEAVE TO TAKE CARE OF ILL DAUGHTER

Allen Iverson missed five games including the All Star game to be with his family. Reports now have Allen leaving the Sixer’s indefinitely to be with his sick daughter. Why Allen has not spoken publicly about his daughters situation,  I would like to send my prayers out to him and his family.  Get well soon Messiah.

CAVS DROP THIRD STRAIGHT IN LOST TO MAGIC

The Cav’s loosing streak rose to three games after dropping another game to the Orlando Magic. While the Cav’s played hard, the chemistry is still not there yet. Coach Brown has been experimenting with different combinations and line ups since acquiring Antawn Jamison from the Wizards. Cavalier fans need to remember that the wine and gold struggled early in the season when trying to find the right combinations to fit with Shaq. A few good practices and a couple of more games should be just what the Cav’s need to get back in sync. Next game Tuesday night vs New Orleans Hornets.
